Fortified castle of Malmort

This feudal site of inaccessible aspect, which overhangs the Roya gorges by nearly 500 m, amply deserves a historical visit which will be enhanced by a splendid panorama on the villages of Saorge, Fontan and Bergue. It may also be an opportunity to discover one of the most secret valleys of the middle country, the Caïros valley, where the sunny adret with its bare pastures and the shady ubac with its dense forests are an ideal response to a distant pastoral and forestry vocation of the mountain area.
