The La Ciappea Association is delighted to present its major project for the rehabilitation of the former Brigasque vineyard.
This extended over the sunny terraces of the Ciappea. It was located under the current via Ferrata. Each family had its plot and maintained it lovingly at the cost of hard work.

The last harvests date back to the 1960s.
Storm Alex on October 2 devastated everyone but created great solidarity in the village. Faced with all the damage and the numerous landslides caused on the site, a dozen residents of La Brigue decided to react. After this terrible psychological shock, they decided to roll up their sleeves and try to improve the situation through a common destiny.

As a reaction to this ordeal which had severely shaken but also united the population, they forced themselves to imagine a different village, perhaps making it even more beautiful than before!
It was in the face of what happened that the strength and inspiration to carry out this project, admittedly a little crazy, was born, but with a strong desire to see it through to completion.

The task is enormous, just like their dream.

So they decided to create the La Ciappea Association. They meet every Saturday to clear the many restanques and during the autumn we started to reassemble the dry stone walls, as the old ones did.

Their dream is to recultivate this place with aromatic plants, lavender, almond trees and of course vines, but also a meeting, a discovery of others and their culture... a place of sharing!

The site is multilingual, they exchange in Italian, Spanish, French and even in Brigasque and they also contribute to creating a fraternal space where everyone has their place. If you are seduced by this forward-looking project whose roots go back to the past, you can join the project by joining the association, by participating in the various work sites or even by offering plants that can give back to the ciappea its former glory.

The association also organizes low wall training days.
