Randonnée de la Carrière Romaine

From Detras Square in La Turbie, take the direction of the East exit of the village by taking the old Roman road now called "Chemin de Fontvieille". Follow the path to pass under the bridge of the old railway track. At the cross point, take the "Chemin de Saint Roch" on the left that joins the "Route de Beausoleil" (RD53) and admire the little chapel Saint Roch on the left. At the crossing, take the path on the right to reach the "Carrière du Justicier", an ancient excavation site that allowed the Romans to extract the stones necessary for the construction of the Augustus Trophy. Go back on your steps to return to the village, but at the cross point, take the steep path of the Crémaillère.
