Beschreibung

The Winter Palace had 220 rooms. It was built in 1901 by architect Albert Tournaire. The interior decor has been altered since its construction, and the hotel has been converted into apartments. The hotel closed permanently in 1958. The facades and roofs were listed as Historic Monuments by a decree dated October 29, 1975. The Riviera Palace was built in early 1897 by two architects from Menton: Abel Glena and Alfred Marsang. The facade decorations are the work of Guillaume Cerutti-Maori, a fresco artist. The hotel originally had three stories and was surrounded by a magnificent park featuring a croquet field and thatched-roof pavilions. Like the Winter Palace, it closed its doors permanently in 1958 and was subsequently sold off as apartments.
